I have been using Lawn Doctor for a couple seasons now and could not be more satisfied. The owner has been in the business his entire life and really knows his way around the lawn. All services are reasonably priced and done so timely. I used to do my own lawn fertilizing, seeding, and weed control, but was difficult with my travel schedule for work, to get fertilizer and various applications down at the right time. Lawn Doctor has their services down to a science, getting every application down at the perfect time, taking stress off me when I am not around to do it myself, and ensuring their promise of a green, thick, weed free lawn. They have helped me and my lawn greatly and I’m sure they will do the same for you and yours as well! ~ Brendan S

To People that want a great looking lawn ... I moved into my house in 1971 and I always wanted a nice looking lawn. I tried and tried to have that lush green lawn. I got it to green up once or twice, but it would only last a few weeks. Believe me, I tried everything. This past spring, my son and daughter went to the Home & Garden Show at the Devos in Grand Rapids. My son handed me literature on grass and the Lawn Doctor was among the information given to me. I read everything. Not knowing what to expect, I took a chance and hired Lawn Doctor. I am so amazed at the way my lawn looks! I couldn't be happier! Lawn Doctor is the way to go. They know everything. The Lawn Doctor's son, Kendall, even went to college for this. If you want to have a beautiful lawn, take my advice, and get a hold of Lawn Doctor. I cannot recommend this service enough- we signed up for the Mosquito treatment for our very large yard almost 10 acres! Normally we use Deet every day in the evenings when walking the dogs or just out working in our yard. Since we started this in June we haven't used deet at all! I was honestly stunned how effective this treatment was on our large rural yard with a pond surrounded by other water that just breeds them in droves! If your swarmed definitely this service works and is more effective then anything else I have ever tried and used before. It is worth every penny and is cheaper in my opinion compared to hose sprays and other homeowner methods overall. ~ michael s

I am one of those frustrating wishy washy customers. I initially signed up for services but ultimately canceled. A month after sending my cancel notice, Lawn Doctor inadvertently came out and provided services despite my cancellation. I called to inform them and they tracked down my email, acknowledged that I indeed cancelled, and cancelled out the invoice from today. I'm rating 5 stars because this business was very easy to work with and was quick to provide an amicable solution. I plan to use Lawn Doctor for their overseeding services in the future, based on the quality of work done today. ~ Ben K

I’ve done it myself forever but last year had a hand injury that got me way behind with weeds. I liked all the reviews I found on Lawn Doctor and liked the family owned aspect. Called them and was treated very well by a very attentive person. Initially I was thinking a 1 year service for me and I’d go back to diy. At this point with the excellent service and the amazing improvement to my weed issues I will be thinking fertilizing and weed control is something that comes off my list and stays on Lawn Doctor’s list!! Lawn Doctor of Kentwood has done a great job for us this year. After poor results with another company over the last 3 years, Lawn Doctor was able to revitalize our lawn and eliminate ALL our weeds. I am extremely demanding when it comes to the lawn and their team did an amazing job. I would highly recommend them for both their customer service and the end product. We have been getting sprayed by Lawn Doctor for flea/tick/pest control for over a year now. We had been seeing multiple ticks on our dogs within a weak and just couldn't stand for that. Since getting sprayed with Lawn Doctor there has not been a single tick incident. They have taken away a lot of worry for us and it is well worth it. It is affordable and they always give you a heads up before they come, leave a paper with information and we don't even have to be home when they stop by. I just want to say the owners went above and beyond for something that happened. They didn't ask any questions and just took care of it. I'll be supporting this business for awhile and will recommend to all family and friends. If you are reading this, you really won't save much going to anther weed control company. Why not give your business to these small guys instead of the big company's in town. I have been trying care for my yard myself for years spending tons of money with little to no results. I called lawn doctor out of frustration and they helped me figure out everything I was doing wrong. We started with a soil test and then a plan. We just deep seeded this spring and applied sulfur (I was putting down lime which messed up the PH of the soil) and fertilizer. In the past I put down bags and bags of grass seed and still had thin grass and bare spots. The deep seeding process was amazing I can’t believe the result. They just started and already my yard looks 100% better. The prices are reasonable and the results are amazing. With the Doctors help I’m not wasting my money guessing what my yard needs. I expect to have a much better lawn this year and the added bonus I just sit back and relax while they do the work.Thank you Lawn Doctor… End of 2022season update: I am pleased to say going into winter I have more grass in my shady backyard then I have ever had in the 20 years I have lived here! I have been using Lawn Doctor for 3 seasons now and my yard has never looked better than it has this year. Each year it has improved. We receive many compliments on how well our yard looks. It is lush and a just looks greener. I have never had to call them back for spot treatments, so it really does work. Techs like Jeff Z. are truly passionate about their work. i was skeptical of power seeding my backyard since i bought a property that had ZERO grass...Mike from operations came to my house and was very confident that power seeding would still be just as advantageous and even made the claim that i would have grass in 7 days. He was wrong...I had grass and a lawn in just under 5 days. I was stunned. Mike is the man and I would highly suggest you use Lawn Doctor if you are looking to grow grass. I was having trouble with my lawn and a lawncare service I have used in other states was not delivering on expectations in Michigan. I switched to Lawn Doctor of Grand Rapids and they helped to rid my lawn of fungus (Sliver Dollar fungus or Dollar Spot fungus) that was spreading across my yard, killed all the weeds, and got my lawn back to a rich, green color. They have been responsive when I call about a concern and address it within days. I would recommend them. ~ Anthony H

We had a beautiful lawn at our previous home thanks to Lawn Doctor. After 4 failed attempts to grow grass with hydro seed at our new house we made the smart move to call Aric for advice. We had more weeds than grass and didn’t know what to do. He recommended the powerseed and treatment. I can already tell his plan is working. Wont name the the company i was previously with. I called Lawn Doctor after getting a few recommendations by word of mouth from neighbors. The main reason i was looking around was poor customer service from the company i was previously with. I spoke with Aric and he was extremely helpful! We have about 3 acres and the first time Lawn Doctor came, they missed a few spots. I do all the time too as it's BIG. Well I called and they came back and resprayed the whole area. The lawn looks fantastic! It was so refreshing to find a local company that really stands behind their work. We couldn't be happier. Signing up is easy & I like their notification system so we are aware of when they'll be doing our lawn. Wish they would've gotten first application in earlier this year though. All our neighbors who use other services had theirs done 2 weeks before us. Also wish they took soil samples to know what would be most effective. I don't believe all lawns are created equal. We have tried some other lawn services when first moving to Grand Rapids, but after going with Lawn Doctor we won't switch. They are a local business, always responsive, extremely knowledgeable and they have great customer service. I had originally reviewed Lawn Doctor's, and gave them a poor review due to having difficulties with them being able to make it to my home to spray my lawn for mosquitos in a timely manner. Since then they reached out to me, apologized, offered me a free spray, and were on top of keeping my Lawn sprayed for the last part of the season. I have to say I was very impressed with Lawn Doctor. I moved into a house that was vacant for almost 4 years. The yard was very much in need of help. I was fed up with lack of results I was getting with my lawn. I had spent 3 years trying different products and approaches and finally just gave up. I called Lawn Doctor a month or so ago and they came out that same day to seed and fertilize. The lawn is looking much much better and the grass is growing! Great communication and really easy Onboarding process. They have an online portal to schedule things and pay your bill as well. They gave me notice they were coming over and their specialist did the job in under 15 mins. There prices were the best I could find in my area and really fair. Before we called Lawn Doctor our yard was full of weeds, patchy and brown. But after just a visit or two we immediately saw a major difference. The grass came in much thicker. It was green. And no weeds. It looks better than ever before. But the best part is, we really got to enjoy our yard more this summer.. Thanks to the mosquito treatment too. We'll be back next season!
